Unit-Based Educator – ASC

Unit-Based Educator – Ambulatory Surgery Center
Type: Part-Time (4 hours per week)

Are you a Registered Nurse with endoscopy experience and a passion for teaching? Join our team as a Unit-Based Educator at the Portland Gastroenterology Center! In this part-time role, you’ll support the professional growth of our clinical team and make a difference by ensuring our high standards of care.

About the Role
As the Unit-Based Educator, you’ll help guide new nursing and endoscopy tech staff through orientation and training, making sure they’re prepared to deliver excellent patient care. You’ll also develop and lead ongoing training sessions for our clinical team, updating education materials as needed and working closely with the ASC Nursing Manager to assess the success of training programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct orientation and training for new clinical staff and maintain educational materials.
  • Mentor and serve as a resource for new ASC team members.
  • Lead unit-specific training sessions to ensure clinical staff meet our high standards.
  • Provide feedback and updates to the ASC Nursing Manager to adjust programs based on feedback.
  • Serve as a lead educator and preceptor, with a focus on integrating evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree preferred or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with 2+ years in endoscopy required.
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS Trainer certifications required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and teaching skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Compensation

  • Pay Grade 29
    • Minimum: $32.18/hour
    • Midpoint: $38.62/hour
    • Maximum: $45.06/hour
