Lead a Skilled Team and Support Safe, High-Quality Endoscopy Care
Portland Gastroenterology Center (PGC) is seeking an Endoscopy Technician Supervisor to help lead daily operations in our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). Working closely with the ASC Nursing Manager, you will support endoscopy technicians, patient flow, and high standards of safety and quality care.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on clinical work, mentoring others, and improving how care is delivered.
What You’ll Do
Staff Leadership

Supervise, schedule, and support our hard-working team of Endoscopy Technicians.

Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing education.

Validate staff competencies and complete performance reviews.

Provide real-time support and problem-solving during procedures.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of safety.

Help build and manage a rolling 3-month technician schedule.

Address performance issues in partnership with ASC leadership and HR.
Patient Care & Workflow

Oversee daily procedure room setup, turnover, and staffing.

Ensure proper setup, assistance, and breakdown for all procedures.

Support patient care directly in procedure rooms when needed.

Work closely with physicians, nurses, anesthesia, and scheduling teams to keep cases running smoothly.

Monitor patient flow and improve efficiency across the ASC.
Scope Reprocessing & Safety

Ensure all endoscope cleaning, disinfection, storage, and tracking meet required standards.

Monitor reprocessing logs, testing results, and quality documentation.

Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Report and follow up on incidents, near misses, and equipment concerns.

Participate in audits, accreditation surveys, and performance improvement efforts.
What We’re Looking For

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field (or equivalent experience).

Current BLS certification required.

CGRN or SGNA certification strongly encouraged.

Experience working in endoscopy or surgical services preferred.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Physical Requirements
This role involves a mix of administrative and clinical work. You must be able to stand for extended periods, assist with procedures, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The job also includes time spent sitting for meetings and documentation.
Compensation
While all compensation at Portland Gastro is based on prevailing market rates, as well as on the successful applicant’s education, training, and experience, we expect this position’s pay to fall somewhere between $28.64/hour and $40.10/hour.
Work Environment
You will work in an ambulatory surgery center that is usually quiet to moderately busy. The role can involve moderate stress during busy procedure days or when addressing urgent issues.
This position is classified as OSHA Category A, and employees in this category will be offered the Hepatitis B vaccine.
